ESFL Drops Contact Flag Football

In a dramatic move for the English Senior Flag League, member clubs voted to amend the ESFL constitution to effectively drop contact flag from it's statutes.

With immediate effect, the ESFL adopts the forms of flag football promoted by the IFAF and EFAF - 5man and 7man non-contact flag. This opens the door to the possibility of the ESFL affiliating under the BAFA umbrella and enable their clubs to take part in international competition.

The vote, meant an amendment to the constitution to amend the following from:

4) Increase and widen participation of the sport of American football (in all its various formats), both within England and beyond. To promote and foster awareness of the sport of American football (in all it's various formats), both within England and beyond. Specifically to promote and nurture the sport of senior flag football, both within England and beyond

to

To promote and foster awareness of the sport of American Football (in the formats recognised by BAFA, EFAF and IFAF), both within England and beyond. Specifically to promote and nurture the sport of Senior Flag Football, both within England and beyond.
