ESFL AGM 2005

After Richard Cleveland, Matt Heasman, Nick Watson and Lawrence Vos did not put their names forward for re-election, the ESFL committee has a different look for 2005. The new committee that was voted in is:

The following proposed rule changes were passed by member teams:

  • To amend 5-on-5 game rules to specify Try after touchdown for 1 point to be re-worded to "on the 5-yard line equidistant from the sidelines"
  • To amend 5-on-5 game rules to specify Try after touchdown for 2 points to be re-worded to "on the 12-yard line equidistant from the sidelines"
  • To amend 9-on-9 game rules to specify "nominate" rule for punts, field-goals and Try after touchdown
  • To amend 9-on-9 game rules to specify stripping the ball is allowed, and the ball may be advanced, but contact with a ball carrier is a holding penalty
The following proposed rule changes were rejected by member teams:
  • To amend 5-on-5 game rules to specify 3 officials per game is mandatory
  • To amend 5-on-5 game rules to replace the "first offence of trash talking is a warning" to "first offence of trash talking is unsportsmanlike conduct and a 15-yard penalty
  • To amend 9-on-9 game rules to specify 3 officials per game is mandatory
  • To amend 9-on-9 and 5-on-5 game rules to specify forward handoffs are illegal
  • To amend 9-on-9 game rules to specify No non-clipping zone between Offensive Tackles and 5 yards from the line of scrimage
