BSFL Week 2 Preview

3rd July 2002

The Brighton Tsunami host their first tournament of the BSFL 2002 season at Waterhall, North Brighton, as the Fen Harriers and Chichester Sharks both travel to West Sussex. All three sides competed in week 1, and each side has yet to record a win. The Harriers, champions in 1999 and 2000, opened their season with a 21-6 reverse at Leicester and will be hoping to kick-start their season. The other two sides will meet in a local derby match-up. Both sides competed at Bournemouth and both sides lost their opening two fixtures against the Bournemouth Raiders and the Invicta Coyotes. Brighton were very impressive in their opening fixture against Invicta, holding last seasons runners-up at 14-14 until they went for a 4th down from their own 30 with 20 seconds left. Invicta stopped them and then scored the winning TD a couple of plays later. Brighton will be keen to open their account on home territory. Chichester’s all-out passing attack worked in fits and starts, but they could not effectively move the ball in week 1. They will be fired up for this one.
