Hurricanes and Birmingham Raiders Withdraw from the BSFL for Rest of Season
19th July 2001
The Hurricanes and the Birmingham Raiders have both pulled out of the BSFL for the remainder of the 2001 BSFL season. Both clubs cited a shortage of players due to injuries. Their remaining fixtures will be awarded as 12-0 forfeit wins to their opponents. Birmingham were 0-2, after being shut-out of their first two games of the season by Leicester Eagles and Fen Harriers. Hurricanes were also 0-2, after a narrow 14-12 defeat to Canterbury Coyotes in week 2, and a 14-0 loss to the London Gators. Both sides intend to return to the BSFL next year.
