Bournemouth Raiders Hosting 5-on-5 Senior Flag Tournament this Sunday

The Bournemouth Raiders 5 on 5 challenge tournament is to be played at Meyrick Park in Bournemouth this Sunday. Seven sides have entered the tournament, and it promises it be a great event (and a cold one judging by the weather forecast). The Sussex Thunder will be entering a tournament for the first time since the 2000 senior kitted season, as they aim to take steps back to joining the senior kitted ranks. Their neighbours, the Southern Sundevils, will also be fielding a side. Those two will be favourites, but accomplished senior flag sides like the Leicester Eagles, North Devon Dogs and the hosts Bournemouth Raiders will be equally confident. The tournament entrants are made up with the Birmingham Raiders and the Brockenhurst Exiles. The tournament will start at 11.30am with a clash of the Raiders as Bournemouth take on Birmingham. All teams to play 4 games of 30 minutes duration. Table to be decided on win/lose percentage. Teams tied on percentage to be separated by result between the teams and where teams have not played each other to be separated by points scored and then points differential. Top two sides in the table to playoff for the trophy.
